Making a website –

Start off by creating a folder this will be called Site – this is the root folder of all your documents will need to go in this folder. 

Title = what people search to find your page on a search engine e.g. Google

Should be – company and the page it is e.g Jodie’s Cloths Home Page

To make a site go to Site - New Site.
Page properties this is where you can change different things of your webpage.

Make sure your on - HTML

This is where you can change the background text colour of links ext.

BY what i was show in my lesson i then when on and mage a textured image in photoshop to make a more interesting background for my webpage.

This was my out come -

We where then shown how to make a table and place pictures inside it.

I then linked the picture in the table to a page that will open when clicked on.

we where also told pages with information if the sentances are long people are less likely to read them. So i have now shorted the sentances on this page since i took this screen shot. I have also changed the background how ever i may change the background back to plane as it looks a bit cleaner and will be easier to read as trying to find a colour on top of the background i created it becoming a little difficult.

This is now my Portfolio page, I am currently adding images, I decided to put my links to other pages in a table across the top of the webpage as i think i looks better makes the page layout look nicer.

If you click on the images it will open a page that gives info on the image, why i drew it, what my inspiration behind it. 

I like my background but i think i may need to make it a bit darker so that everyone will be able to read the text as it may be difficult for some people, I would also like to experiment with putting borders around my images to make look a bit nicer.

Titanium Studio 

Titanium Studio is an all-inclusive Eclipse-based IDE that simplifies the mobile development process.You can use Titanium Studio to –BuildTestPackagePublish mobile applicationsDesktop applicationsWeb applications You are able to test your mobile apps in the simulator or on device, automate app packaging deploy to a public or private App Store.The program uses Java Script.We teated our own websites on this program to see what they would look like on a mobile app.

 

Using Sprys 

We started experomenting with spry we created a table and inserted a spry into the table this is to ristrict the Spry from taking up the hole page. 

spry are good for lots of reasons like laying out links so they look more attractive to the eye rather then in a list at the bottom of the screen like some of my pages are laid out at the moment or to put lots of information on different things on the same page, without it looking messy or too overwhelming. 

This is a print screen of me trying out different types of Sprys.

Looking at the different types of Sprys I think they could be useful for my webpage for information on the inspiration of my artwork. 

Using Widgets

Adobe Dreamweaver comes with a Adobe widget Browser you need to make an account with adobe to use them but they are free, widgets include things like -

Google Maps

YouTube Player

CSS3 Buttons

jSocial 

Plus lots, lots more.

Web widgets are pieces of code that you can embed on to your webpage or personal publishing space such as Blogger. Web widgets work like mini-application that you can use to provide information to visitors of your page.

Evaluation

For making my first webpage I feel I’ve done ok but I also feel I could of done better, I found the program a little hard to get the hang of but I feel I’m getting better with it after using the program for a few weeks, I like my backgrounds that I created on Photoshop, I found that if sentences where too long people are less likely to read it as it is unappealing to the eye. My page links work I feel they look tidy along the top of the pages however I would of liked to of used a widget to make the links look nicer on my page, rather then having just standard text, if I was to do it again I would like to experiment with these more with different types of widgets.

If I was to change things about my work I would like to add borders around my image to make the layout look better and to make it more appealing to the eye, find how to change the font and size of the text on my webpage, as I don’t like the default type face. I found that the research I did on websites and mobile applications helped me with my design process, I just found it difficult to put my ideas onto my own webpage, if I was to do it again I think It would help to look up tutorials online about Adobe Deamweaver this would help me to experiment more and push my idea’s further and put my idea’s into my website.
