This is the layout of my own personal the Facebook profile page website the website using a Desktop.
The layout of the two websites are very different. The open pages of the desktop version there is a menu bar down the left side, this is where you can check your events and unread messages, find & access your Apps (games) and look at your group pages. The middle of the screen is the news feed. Notifications, friend requests & new messages are found in the icons at the top of the screen next to the search bar. The left hand side is filled with advertises.
On the mobile version of Facebook there are no advertisements this could be because of several reasons, such as to save space so that the application will load faster, I found that people get very frustrated when the Facebook app loads slowly if taking too much time they just give up and close the app, it could also be to save space in another seance, phones and tablets have a limited screen space so by not adding adverts on they're app page means there is more room to fill up with more necessary or more important factors. Another reason for there being no advertisements on the app version might to lure people in they can use Facebook when ever they want where ever they want at a click of a button with not interference with pop ups or links as long as they have a 3G connection or WiFi, by doing this people are able to feed there addiction to Facebook, from my own assumption i assume those who download the Facebook application already have Facebook and use it on a regular basis making them want to download the application so they can still access the site even being away from they're computer screen.
By looking into the mobile application online, as I do not own a smart phone myself with the application option or use the internet on my phone I found a few limitations of the Facebook application some are very obvious some that people may not be aware of.
On the desktop version when you have wrote and published a post or comment you are able to delete it or edit(if you click delete within a few seconds of posting) with the mobile application you can't do this, once posted from a phone you have to log onto a desktop version if you wish to delete it this could be purposely done to make sure you still use the desktop version of Facebook and not just the application on your phone if views to the desktop version goes down people may assume that it is becoming less popular this is just my assumption I haven't found any information on why they have done this. One a desktop version when a friend has posted a link you have the option to share it, this posts it on your Facebook page too, apparently mobile applications don't have the option you have to manually copy and past the web link then post it on your page you cant do this directly from your friends page, also on a mobile application you can not look at group pages so if you are part of a group one Facebook you will have to log onto a desktop pc to check these pages. Another feature that the mobile App doesn't have is on the desktop version it suggests pages and groups you might be interested in and suggests that you like them, this feature is good for businesses for advertising and promoting them.

With the new layout of the YouTube desktop webpage it is actually easier to access your favourites on the mobile web browser the it is the desktop version this is because when logged into your account on the mobile website the home screen there is 3 page buttons listed at the top of the screen - Home Browse and Account, on the account page you have information on your account e.g channel views, uploads and subscribers under this information is four buttons, Uploads, Favourites, playlists and subscriptions clicking on the favourites button will take you to your playlist, to access this page on the desktop from the home page to my channel then click video manager in the top right corner then to favourites this will then show your playlist. In my own personal opinion I think this is a lot of effort to see your favourites playlist especially when the old webpage had a option to see your favourites playlist on the homepage (if you where logged in.) This could be because they assumed it wasn't that important on the desktop version as if you know the name of the video it is very easy to find using the search bar located at the top of the home page where as location some video's from a phone can be quite difficult sometimes as the search results aren't always the video you are looking for or low quality also some of the video's found using the YouTube app say that they are not available when using this version of YouTube, this is easy to bypass just search for YouTube using your mobile and use the desktop version to watch the video your couldn't access as the video is still compatible with the phone if you are using a Smart phone for example a HTC sensation.
On the Netweast banking Application for an android, Blackberry, iPhone & iPad you can see your last 6 transactions from all your accounts including -

Mortgages You can pay your friends, family, credit card or utillity bills it's quick and easy al you have to do is set up and make your first payment to each new payee in online banking beforeheand.
You can move money between your accounts, transfers are processed immediately and your balances updated.
On the move you can search your current location or input an adress to locate natwest cash machines and natweast branches.
You can top up your family's mobile phones, you can add up to five different mobile phones, this option works with most major networks with the exeption of 3 mobile network.
Netweast will not charge for any mobile banking services however the provider may charge depending on the tariff. Most mobile network operators don't change for downloading and using the application in the UK, however Oragne, virgin and vodafone currently charge this can depend on the tariff. Additional overseas network charges may apply for all networks checking with the provider is addvised. You can use this servise if you are over the age of 11 you have an account with netweat and have online banking with that branch. You have to have an Android phone modle OS 2.1 or above. It's easy to cancel this servise by deleteing the application.

Angry birds game on A decktop is pretty much the same layout on a phone appliation accspet that it is larger size on a decktop, usually on a smart phone you would use your finger to drag the birds back and take your finger off to let go, unless you have a tutch screen PC moniter you will have to use your mouse to move the birds. The only thing different from the ap and the decktop is that one is that there is a Level score leader bored on the side of the game. I think this has been done so that it causes people to become competative over they're score and try and beat there friends this can then lead to becomeing addicted to playing the game.
There is also a bar at the top of the screen these are things that can help you with the game. You can win them in the dayly spin or pay for them with facebook points, if people become addicted enough and get stuck on a level people may be influenced to buy credits. This raises profit for facebook and also angry birds.
